How to get Master/Detail view with the Toolkit's DataGridControl

Mar 15 at 10:55 PM
It appears that there's some sort of Master/Detail capability in the Toolkit's DataGridControl but I can't seem to figure out how to get it to work and I've not been able to find any useful documentation on this. The docs I can find are for the newer standalone (paid) control and they don't seem to apply to the older control with the Toolkit.

Are there any examples on how to do a Master/Detail view with the Toolkit's version of DataGridControl? I've tried playing around with DefaultDetailsConfiguration but rows never seem to be expandable.

Hi,

The Master/Details are only available in the full Xceed DataGridControl.
The Xceed Toolkit's DataGridControl has less features than the full Xceed DataGridControl.
You can find the features that are only part of the Full Xceed DataGridControl (and not included in the Xceed Toolkit's DataGridControl) here : https://wpftoolkit.codeplex.com/wikipage?title=Advanced%20DataGrid&referringTitle=DataGrid.

You can get the Xceed Full DataGridControl here :

Good to know. Thanks! There's still some vestiges of master/detail capability in the Toolkit version (such as DefaultDetailsConfiguration) which made this pretty confusing (if there's DefaultDetailsConfiguration, where's DetailsConfiguration?). We've been considering purchasing the full version of the DataGrid control.

Thanks for the pointer to the documentation. Somehow I missed this before.
