Am I right in thinking this only works with .Net 4.0?

Yes, you are correct.  This only works with .NET 4.0.

Due to popular demand, I have just released a version for Visual Studio 2008 and .NET 3.5.  It does have a dependency on the WPFToolkit and won't work without it.

Brian,

I hit a problem with the 3.5 version (which I hit before when I tried adapting it myself). I can set the content text, but if I try and replace the content  I get the message:

'Microsoft.Windows.Controls.BusyIndicator.Content' property has already been set and can be set only once

In other words, this works:

 <Controls:BusyIndicator Name="busyIndicator" IsBusy="False" Content="Very Busy">

......

</Controls:BusyIndicator>

This doesn't work:

 <Controls:BusyIndicator Name="busyIndicator" IsBusy="False">

        <Controls:BusyIndicator.Content>

                 <TextBlock Text="Doing Stuff..."
                           FontSize="18"
                           FontWeight="Bold" />

        </Controls:BusyIndicator.Content>

......

</Controls:BusyIndicator>

Any ideas?

Ignore that. BusyContent did the trick.
