DateTimePicker UpdateSourceTrigger Not working

Jul 26, 2012 at 1:12 PM

Hi

I noticed that the binding on the DateTimePicker Value property does not fire when a user types into the box. It only fires when using the up/down arrows.

This is usually classically solved in WPF with UpdateSourceTrigger=PropertyChanged however this does not work with this control?

any ideas?

thanks

When using this xaml code :

 <StackPanel>
        <xctk:DateTimeUpDown x:Name="datePicker"/>
        <Button Content="{Binding ElementName=datePicker, Path=Value}" />
    </StackPanel>

if the date is typed in the box, the binding on the button is correctly updated. What I'm I missing ?

Hi,
I have the same problem. It only works, if the return key will pressed after a keyboard input.
But, if you try to change the month with the keyboard and then you change the day with the arrow keys, the month will set back to the start value.

Is this bug still there in v2.0 ?
From the code snippet given above, while typing the month, as soon as the month is recognize (before completing the typing), the button content is updated.
